project mighty by Adobe

Hopefully you have heard that Adobe will be moving away from the update to CS7 and creating a subscription-based Creative Cloud. If you had not heard the news, SURPRISE!!! Anyhoo, along with this cloud based creative suite Adobe has "Project Mighty" in the works. Project Mighty is a very cool concept of eliminating pencil and paper and creating directly on a tablet or smart phone. Plenty of companies have tried something similar in the past with not much luck. Adobe doing this make the most sense in my opinion.
 
Ok, I will stop talking about it and just let Adobe explain this super cool tool.

This could change the way designers, illustrators, artist, and any creator works. It is so simple and smart it makes me think, why did it take so long to come to this?

tech21 & the "magic" goo

The only way to explain the goo is to see the goo.
Set your peepers on this.

My guess is this goo is made of cornstarch and water, mix it something else to make it gummy, and add in some orange dye. BLAM! You are a millionaire! If haven't seen cornstarch and water in action it is true magic, or science whatevers.

Cornstarch and water is the cheapest toy you will ever spend hours with. It can get messy but is not hard to clean once it dries. Tip: You cannot stir in the water. It only makes it expand into a solid. You will bend your spoon silly.

I can totally see this goo working to keep a cell phone safe on the outside depending on how thick the case is. For a few seconds the goo expands to make a dense surface on the top layer and that is how it protects it. Anyhoo, I thought I would share my thoughts of what this magic goo could really be. Hey, maybe one of you can make your own magic cornstarch goo for cash.

Check out what Brian Dettmer can do with a book.

"Dettmer creates his masterpieces by bending the book into an position that fans out the pages to some extent, then he cuts away parts of each page one at a time to reveal the hidden artwork within. It's kind of like an X-ray that makes you a voyeur looking inside the book without actually opening it. Some of his more recent work combines several books glued together, often multiple volumes of a set to provide a sense of continuity across the piece....Dettmer uses knives, tweezers and surgical tools to create his art, along with what must be a stunning amount of patience and skill. The amazing results speak for themselves." 

Can you imagine how long this takes? The detail in his cuts are amazing considering how thin the pages really are. WOW!

little printer = big possibilities

Everyone enjoys service with a smile and why not get your RSS services printed with a smile, a cute one at that. London based design studio BERG has developed a great Little Printer that lets you print your RSS feeds from your phone. They have partnered with a few companies like Nike, Google, and Foursquare, sure to make this launch in 2012 a great one. For instance with Google you can print news feeds and list or with Nike you can track your calories burned over the last few weeks, including yesterdays workout.

I think it is brilliant! Did I mention it is inkless?

I hope they open the possibilities of this printer to business solutions like on-the-go receipt printing or instant customizable coupons or vouchers. This could be used for businesses on the go or just a daily to-do list you tear off on the way out the door after grabbing your keys. Really the possibilities are endless!
